Moxy

There is perhaps no bigger legend in the history of Canadian hard rock than Toronto's Moxy. One can still hear the roar of vocalist Buzz Shearman, twenty years after a motorcycle accident tragically ended his life just north of Canada's biggest city. But you'd have to go to Texas to hear that roar on the radio, the Lone Star state by chance or by fate, having become the band's biggest market, their home country of Canada having conveniently slotted the band into the files of long-lost rock 'n' roll dinosaur rockers, good for the odd classic rock spin, but more or less left to fond memory. To this day, Texas radio still samples from the band's four classic albums, three with Buzz Shearman, and one with a young Mike Rynoski, who would go on to major fame as Mike Reno of Loverboy.

And then, twenty years later, three of the original members of Moxy reunited along with bar band belter Brian "Max" Maxim for what was essentially a 25th anniversary album of all new material, appropriately titled Moxy V.

Bill Wade, in many ways was the catalyst behind the project, but grew very ill with cancer shortly after Moxy V was released. Unable to continue, a replacement for Bill became necessary and a bass player was also needed. In steps Kim Hunt on drums and Jim Samson on Bass guitar, known in the Toronto area as the best rhythm section as they have been band mates for the better part of thirty years, starting in Zon back in the seventies. Moxy always wanting to give the fans what they want, a first time ever live CD entitled RAW was released featuring the best performances from their reunion tour.

And now, in the latest chapter of Moxy history, in steps one of Canada's most notorious vocalists, Russ Graham from the Canadian band Killer Dwarfs. With this incredible combination of talent, we now have what could be called a Canadian 70's Super Band. Don't miss this show!!!
